RustDesk is a remote desktop software, the open source TeamViewer / AnyDesk alternative. You have full control of your data, with no concerns about security since it only sends data to a server that you setup. You can use a public rendezvous/relay server or self-host one. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install RustDesk on your Synology NAS using Docker and DSM 7.2 I've based a significant amount of this guide on https://drfrankenstein.co.uk guides. First, Follow the following 4 guides: Step 0: Docker, Memory Recommendations and Limitations Step 1: Directory Setup Guide Step 2: Setting up a restricted Docker user Step 3: Setting up a Docker Bridge Network Following these guides will give you a nice Docker folder structure, a restricted user to run your containers on (this is more secure) and a dedicated network for your containers. Lets Begin First we need to set up some folders for RustDesk to save its configuration files and also where the Project will save th...
One of the great features of Picasa Web was that you could embed a Flash slideshow of your albums. Google would even give you the code to do it. There was a button that said Embed and it would give you the code. Just cut and paste and you were done.
With the migration to Google Plus Photos, this disappeared.
Here's a work around.
Use the following link to get back to the original PicasaWeb site.
https://picasaweb.google.com/ lh/myphotos?noredirect=1
Hopefully the embed button makes a re-appearance, or Google leaves the old page up forever.

Many Thanks Mike,
ReplyDeleteI was getting upset with Picasa G+ that does not have the Embed functionality anymore ;-))

Any update on this topic....I NEED the ability to still embed slideshows on websites using Google plus w/o having to find the "secret" link?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I cannot tell you how many hours of my life were wasted trying to figure this out. WHY did they make this so difficult with their "update"?!?!?
ReplyDeleteThanks a ton !!
ReplyDeleteI hope GOOGLE realizes the amount of angst and inconvenience they are causing.
Thank you so much. Really freaked me out they forced G+ on us & when I went to put pics & slideshows on my website, I couldn't find the html tagging. Not sure why the took that info off, really uncool.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this hint. I was so frustrated when the slideshow ability went away. I do hope they will think about bringing it back. Again, thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am very happy getting back the old picasa-overview
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks !
ReplyDeleteThank you. This really helped. I don't know why this was taken away. This may be a deal breaker if it doesn't get installed in the newer Picasa or I will change to Flicker (If slideshows are available) or some one else. Thanks again for the work around.
ReplyDeleteYou rock!
ReplyDeleteReally appreciate this link, it helps a lot! Now how do I upload pictures to that album from Picasa? It keeps uploading them to the Google Plus site where I can't get to it. Thanks for any advice!
ReplyDeleteMaravilha!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I wonder what purpose Google sees in frustrating people by eliminating popular functions like the code to embed a slide show.

huuu.. very sad...go to https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/myphotos?noredirect=1 then problem loading page appeared... what can i do??
ReplyDeleteoke thanks bro..
ReplyDeletegoogle don't realise the angst they cause, maybe they are not human, they just prefaced a Chopin Mazurka with 30 seconds of shrieks and electronic suffering for me on You tube so I can well believe they can cause angst here as well....
ReplyDeleteHas Google changed things again? I embedded shows into my web site and they worked at the end of 2013, now they are again gone.

Mine still work. Althought I notice that it takes around 3-5 seconds for them to start displaying now.
DeleteI did like the embed function web albums, but I prefer to use slidemypics.com since it is not a flash player and will work on mobile devices. It can link directly to your picasa web albums!
ReplyDeleteslidemypics is nice, but no apparent randomizer. will keep on looking
ReplyDeletePhew - thanks for this post!
ReplyDeleteThe picasa slideshow embedded in my google site works well for PC but not mobile device. Neither does the video. What do you suggest?
ReplyDeleteGoogle slideshow uses Adobe Flash. Flash, for the most part, does not work on Mobile devices.
DeleteUse slidemypics I referenced above, it's 100% HTML5, so it will work on EVERYTHING.
An awesome way to embed Picasa and Google Plus photos - try the Pimax plugin
